Beats of Heart

I dream of my lover

Oh how I dream of my lover

 ♦

This is how I know when he comes

My spirit and soul feel his presence

Suddenly, the air around me becomes still

I am aware of every gracious breath that journeys through my being

My heart feels like its melting into a pool of sweet ecstasy

I see him, our eyes lock and say “hello,… I love you”

While our souls embrace before our bodies meet in touch

♦

I dream of my lover

Oh how I dream of my lover

 ♦

This is how I know he is near

My anxieties and pain feel just a bit lighter as he whispers

“We can do this together”

“I’ll love you as long as I live”

“Hold my hand”

I meditate on the tender kisses we share

The days in the sun together

The rhythm of our dance together

I give you my promise

I’ll do what it takes for us to spend eternity in Paradise together

I love you forever, so help me God

♦

I dream of my lover

Oh how I dream of my lover

So love come kiss me like only you can

Come hold me like only you can

Come whisper to me like only you can

Surely God has put his finger on this one

♦

I dream of my lover

Oh how I dream of my lover

Please take this as a compliment: I wish I had written this. That’s how good this is. Melted a cynical heart with this, Mosk

Glad you stopped by. I hope you love this poem as much as i loved writing it…it’s a really dear one to me. I purposefully formatted it to reflect some of the irregular patterns of love.
